The catheter GEDIS

It consists of the empty inside polystyrene pin and silicone membrane holding the pin at its base. The top of the membrane is corked with a plastic stopper, part of which is situated in the hole inside the pin. This part of the cork is drilled inside and the ending of the hole is filled with medical wax. Both the cork standing out of the pin and the membrane are made of solid plastic. The pin at the opposite side of the catheter is blocked with rubber cork. This system forms hermetic, sterilely closed space packed additionally in airtight foil marked with corporate logotype. The catheter is labeled in the insemination center with full information about the semen inside, which assures a perfect identification of the boar.

The semen, taken and evaluated by our specialists is then cooled, diluted and pumped automatically in sterile conditions inside of silicone membrane (rubber cork is punched at its base by hypodermic needles). Expanding balloon produces the pressure inside. Gedil – the diluent, guarantees that the semen can be used up to 6 days. Such prepared semen is sent to the customers at the temp.of  +17 °C.
